Aydan Özoğuz is a prominent German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has served as a member of the Bundestag since 2009. Between 2013 and 2018, she served as the Federal Commissioner for Immigration, Refugees and Integration, becoming the first woman of Turkish descent to hold a ministerial-rank position in the German federal government.
