Bajram Begaj is an Albanian politician and former military officer serving as the President of Albania since 2022. Before his presidency, he had a distinguished 31-year military career, culminating in his service as the 26th Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces from 2020 to 2022. A medical doctor by training, he holds the title of associate professor in medicine. Since assuming the presidency, Begaj has focused on strengthening Albania's international relations and advancing the country's Euro-Atlantic integration.
