Profile

Bally Bagayoko is a French politician serving as the Mayor of Saint-Denis and President of the Plaine Commune territorial public establishment since 2026. Born in Levallois-Perret to a family of Malian origin, he previously worked as an executive at the RATP and served as a municipal councilor and deputy mayor in Saint-Denis for nearly two decades. A member of La France Insoumise, he is known for his focus on local social policies, including the disarmament of the municipal police and the redistribution of security budgets toward public services. His election made Saint-Denis the first city with over 100,000 inhabitants to be governed by his party, and he has been a vocal advocate against racism in political discourse.
