Barbara Ballard

Barbara Ballard is an American politician serving as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives for the 44th district, a position she has held since 1993. A member of the Democratic Party, she currently serves as the chairwoman of the House Democratic Caucus and is the treasurer of the Kansas African American Legislative Caucus. Prior to her legislative career, Ballard served on the Lawrence School Board and held various administrative roles at the University of Kansas, including dean of students. She is currently the senior associate director at the Dole Institute of Politics, continuing her long-standing commitment to public service and education.
