Bayo Alaba is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Southend East and Rochford since 2024. Prior to his parliamentary career, he served as a councillor for the Wanstead Park ward in Redbridge and worked as a paratrooper. Alaba holds a bachelor's degree in manufacturing and business from Coventry University and studied social politics at the London School of Economics. He is currently a member of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee and serves on the executive committee of the Fabian Society.
