Benoît Payan

Benoît Payan is a French politician serving as the Mayor of Marseille since December 2020. A former member of the Socialist Party, he rose to prominence as a vocal critic of the city's previous municipal administration and was a key architect of the 'Printemps marseillais' coalition. Before becoming mayor, he served as a municipal councillor and a departmental councillor for the Bouches-du-Rhône. His political agenda has focused on urban renewal, public service improvements, and environmental initiatives, including the promotion of greener city policies and the renovation of local schools.
