Beyers Smit

Christiaan Frederik Beyers Smit is a South African politician currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa, having been elected in 2024. Prior to his current role, he served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces representing Limpopo from 2014 to 2024. Throughout his career, he has held various positions within the Democratic Alliance, including serving as a deputy provincial chairperson and as a councillor for the Mogalakwena Local Municipality. Smit is recognized as an openly gay politician and has been active in parliamentary committee work related to land reform, mineral resources, and public enterprises.
