Bill Foster

Bill Foster is an American politician, physicist, and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 11th congressional district since 2013. Previously, he represented the 14th district from 2008 to 2011. Before entering politics, Foster had a distinguished career in high-energy physics at Fermilab, where he contributed to the discovery of the top quark and the neutrino burst from supernova SN 1987A. He also co-founded Electronic Theatre Controls, a successful theatrical lighting company. In Congress, he is known for his focus on science, technology, and financial regulation, and he is one of the few research physicists to have served in the House.
