Bill Jordan, Baron Jordan, is a British Labour politician and life peer who has served as a Member of the House of Lords since 2000. Born in 1936, he began his career in the trade union movement, serving as President of the Amalgamated Engineering Union and its successor, the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union, from 1986 to 1994. He later held the position of General Secretary of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions from 1995 to 2002. Throughout his career, he has also served as a governor for the London School of Economics and the BBC. He was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1992 for his contributions to industrial relations.
