Richard B. 'Blake' Sanders is an American politician serving as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for the 9th District since 2024. A member of the Republican Party, he won his seat after defeating James Galyean in the 2024 primary runoff and running unopposed in the general election. Sanders is known for his conservative legislative focus, having previously sponsored the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023. He currently serves on the House Legislative Oversight and the Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committees.
