Brendan Hanley is a Canadian politician and physician currently serving as the Member of Parliament for the electoral district of Yukon, having been first elected in 2021. Before entering federal politics, he served as the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Yukon starting in 2008, where he became a prominent public figure during the COVID-19 pandemic. His medical career includes extensive experience in emergency medicine and family practice across Canada's northern territories, as well as international humanitarian work with Doctors Without Borders in Africa and Asia. He holds a medical degree from the University of Alberta, a diploma in tropical medicine and hygiene from the University of Liverpool, and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
