Brian Francis is a Canadian politician and Mi'kmaw leader who has served as a member of the Senate of Canada representing Prince Edward Island since October 2018. He holds the distinction of being the first Mi'kmaq from Prince Edward Island to be appointed to the Senate. Prior to his parliamentary career, he served as the Chief of the Abegweit First Nation from 2007 to 2018 and worked as an Aboriginal programs coordinator with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. He continues to advocate for Indigenous rights and representation within the Canadian political system.
