Daryl Fridhandler

Daryl Fridhandler is a Canadian lawyer, businessman, and politician who has served as a member of the Senate of Canada since his appointment in August 2024. A long-time corporate lawyer and partner at the Calgary-based firm Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP, he has held numerous leadership roles in community and economic organizations, including chairing the Alberta Ballet and the Calgary Public Library. While he has a history of involvement with the Liberal Party of Canada, including serving as an election co-chair in Alberta, his appointment to the Senate drew criticism from provincial leadership regarding the selection process. He holds degrees from McGill University, Dalhousie University, and New York University.
