Cécile Helle

Cécile Helle is a French politician who has served as the Mayor of Avignon since 2014. A member of the Socialist Party, she previously served as a deputy for the Vaucluse constituency from 1997 to 2002 and as a regional councillor for Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Before entering full-time politics, she worked as a lecturer in geography at Avignon University. Throughout her career, she has held various leadership roles within her party and local government, including vice-presidency of the regional council and the Grand Avignon intercommunal structure. She was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2017.
