Cansın Köktürk is a German politician and social worker who has served as a member of the Bundestag since March 2025, representing North Rhine-Westphalia. Born in Hattingen in 1993, she holds a degree in social work from the University of Duisburg-Essen and has extensive experience working with refugees, the homeless, and impoverished families. Before entering federal politics, she served as a neighborhood manager in Bochum and founded the outreach organization Medizinische Flüchtlingshilfe Bochum. Politically, she has navigated affiliations with The Left and Alliance 90/The Greens, eventually returning to The Left. She is also the author of the 2023 book 'Unsozialstaat Deutschland', which critiques the German welfare system.
