Carlos Zorrinho

Carlos Zorrinho is a Portuguese politician and university professor currently serving as the Mayor of Évora. A long-standing member of the Socialist Party, he previously served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2024 and held multiple roles in the Portuguese national government, including Secretary of State for Energy and Innovation. An academic by profession, he is a Full Professor at the University of Évora, where he earned his doctorate in Information Management. Throughout his career, Zorrinho has focused on technological innovation, sustainable development, and European integration, notably coordinating Portugal's Technological Plan and the Lisbon Strategy.
