Carmen Leyte

María del Carmen Leyte Coello is a Spanish politician and doctor who has served as a member of the Senate of Spain since 2008, representing the Province of Ourense. A member of the People's Party, she previously served as the mayor of Cartelle from 1991 to 2017. Since 2018, she has also been a member of the Spanish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where she has focused on public health, social affairs, and sustainable development, including authoring reports on vaccine-preventable diseases and Long COVID.
