Carol Ammons

Carol Ammons is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 103rd district since 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, she represents the Champaign-Urbana area and is the first African American woman to hold this seat. Before her election to the state legislature, she served on the Champaign County Board and the Urbana City Council. Ammons is an active member of the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus and has focused her legislative efforts on environmental protection and criminal justice reform.
