Caroline Gennez is a Belgian politician who currently serves as a member of the Flemish Parliament. A prominent figure in the socialist movement, she previously held the position of Minister of Development Cooperation and Urban Policy in the federal De Croo Government from 2022 to 2024. Earlier in her career, she served as the chairwoman of the Socialist Party – Different (SP.A), now known as Vooruit, and held various local government roles in Sint-Truiden and Mechelen. Gennez holds a Master's degree in Political and Sociological Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven and has been active in European socialist politics, including serving as treasurer for the Party of European Socialists.
