Carson Smith

Carson Henry Smith Jr. is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 16th district since 2019. Before his legislative career, Smith served as the sheriff of Pender County from 2002 to 2018. In 2020, he was appointed to serve as the interim Emergency Management Director for Pender County, a role he had previously held prior to his tenure as sheriff. During his time in the state legislature, he has held leadership positions on various committees, including serving as the Chair of the Appropriations - Justice and Public Safety committee.
