Cassandra Fernando is an Australian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Division of Holt since 2022. Born in Sri Lanka, she immigrated to Australia at age 11 and later worked for nearly 15 years at Woolworths, where she became an active delegate and organizer for the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association. As a member of the Labor Party, she holds the distinction of being the first Sri Lankan-born woman to be seated in the Australian Parliament. She currently serves on several parliamentary committees, including those focused on employment, education, training, and migration.
