Cathal Mallaghan is an Irish politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Mid Ulster since 2024. Before his election to the House of Commons, he served on the Mid Ulster District Council from 2014 to 2024, including a tenure as chair. In line with Sinn Féin's policy of abstentionism, he does not take his seat in the Westminster Parliament. Mallaghan has been an advocate for inquiries into historical violence in Northern Ireland and has actively supported the Palestine Solidarity Campaign's demands regarding the Gaza war, including calling for an arms embargo against Israel.
