Deirdre Hargey is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who has served as a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly for Belfast South since 2020. Before entering the Assembly, she was a Belfast City Councillor from 2011 to 2020 and served as the Lord Mayor of Belfast from 2018 to 2019. During her tenure in the Northern Ireland Executive, she held the position of Minister for Communities from 2020 to 2022 and briefly served as the interim Minister for the Economy in 2024. Currently, she acts as the Sinn Féin justice spokesperson and serves on the Assembly's committees for Justice and Finance.
