Celia Groothedde

Celia Groothedde is a Belgian politician representing the green party Groen. Born in Anderlecht in 1977, she worked as a copywriter, translator, columnist, and author before entering politics. She served as a member of the Flemish Parliament from 2019 to 2024, focusing on welfare, early childhood, and poverty reduction, and became known for her parliamentary work exposing childcare crises. In 2024, she was elected to the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region, where she serves as secretary and participates in the Committee on Internal Affairs, alongside serving as a senator and leading the Ecolo-Groen faction in the Belgian Senate.
