Chak Au

Chak Au is a Canadian politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Richmond Centre—Marpole since 2025. Born in Hong Kong, he immigrated to Canada in 1988 after working for the Hong Kong government and lecturing at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. A family therapist by profession, Au began his political career as a Richmond school trustee in 1999 and later served on the Richmond City Council from 2011 to 2026. During his tenure in municipal politics, he was known for his advocacy on community issues and his opposition to the implementation of safe consumption sites in Richmond. He is a member of the Conservative Party and currently serves on the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security.
