Chen Chi-mai

Chen Chi-mai is a Taiwanese politician and physician currently serving as the Mayor of Kaohsiung. A member of the Democratic Progressive Party, he has held numerous high-level government positions, including Vice Premier of the Republic of China and multiple terms as a legislator in the Legislative Yuan. Throughout his career, he has focused on urban development, public health, and technology-driven governance, notably implementing digital contact tracing during the COVID-19 pandemic. He previously served as acting mayor of Kaohsiung in 2005 before returning to the office in 2020 following a by-election.
