加藤千速

Chihaya Kato is a Japanese politician and business executive currently serving as the Mayor of Owase City in Mie Prefecture. Born in 1948, he graduated from the Faculty of Commerce at Keio University and held various leadership roles in the private sector, including positions at Hankyu Department Stores, Hankyu Oasis, and the Asia Pacific Trade Center. Since his first election as mayor in 2017, he has focused on revitalizing the local economy by leveraging his retail expertise to promote the regional fishing industry. He was re-elected in 2021 and 2025, continuing his efforts to improve medical infrastructure and create employment opportunities for the youth in Owase.
