西村智奈美

Chinami Nishimura is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Throughout her career, she has held significant roles including State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs. A graduate of Niigata University and the University of Bristol, she previously worked as a university lecturer and NGO administrator. Politically, she is known for her advocacy on gender equality, including support for selective separate surnames for married couples and LGBTQ+ rights, while maintaining a firm stance against nuclear power and constitutional revision of Article 9. She currently serves as Vice Representative of the Middle Reform Union.
