Chitta Mukherjee

Chitta Mukherjee is an Indian politician serving as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly for the Jangipur constituency. Elected in 2026 as a representative of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he defeated the incumbent candidate Jakir Hossain by a margin of 10,542 votes. Before entering active politics, Mukherjee worked as an advocate and holds degrees in law and education from the University of Calcutta. He is a native of the Murshidabad district in West Bengal.
