Chiyomi Kobayashi is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly. After graduating from Chuo University, she worked for Nichiro Corporation and became involved in labor and peace movements. She previously served two terms in the House of Representatives and two terms as a member of the Chitose City Council, where she also held the position of Deputy Chair. Kobayashi is a proponent of gender equality and the introduction of selective separate surnames for married couples.
