Chris Minns is an Australian politician serving as the 47th Premier of New South Wales since 2023 and as the leader of the New South Wales Labor Party since 2021. A member of the Labor Right faction, he has represented the electorate of Kogarah in the Legislative Assembly since 2015. Before his election to state parliament, Minns served as a councillor and deputy mayor of Hurstville. His premiership has been marked by significant legislative activity, including reforms to tenancy laws, public sector industrial relations, and controversial measures regarding protest rights and firearms regulation. Minns holds a Master of Public Policy from Princeton University and is known for his centrist political approach.
