Rita Saffioti

Rita Saffioti is an Australian politician serving as the Deputy Premier of Western Australia, Treasurer, and Minister for Transport and Tourism. A member of the Australian Labor Party, she has represented the electoral district of West Swan in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since 2008. Before entering parliament, she worked as an economics adviser and strategic management consultant. Throughout her career, she has been a key figure in the state's infrastructure development, notably overseeing the Metronet rail expansion project. Saffioti is recognized for her focus on economic policy and transport infrastructure, and she remains a prominent, non-factionally aligned leader within the Western Australian government.
