Christian Schaft

Christian Schaft is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Thuringia, representing the party Die Linke (The Left). Since September 2024, he has served as the chairman of the Left parliamentary group in the state legislature. Schaft, who holds a Master of Arts in communication science from the University of Erfurt, has been active in state politics since 2014. Previously, he served as the state chairman of Die Linke Thüringen from 2021 to 2025 and held a mandate in the Barchfeld-Immelborn municipal council. His political focus includes science and higher education policy.
