Christine Jardine is a Scottish Liberal Democrat politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Edinburgh West since 2017. Before entering national politics, she worked as a journalist for the BBC and as an editor for the Press Association in Scotland, later teaching journalism at several Scottish universities. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has held various frontbench roles, including spokesperson for Home Affairs, Women and Equalities, and the Cabinet Office. Jardine is a vocal advocate for social issues, including supporting assisted suicide legislation and animal welfare reforms.
