Christopher S. Friend

Christopher S. Friend is an American politician and chemist serving as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 124th District. A native of Big Flats, New York, he holds a B.S. in chemistry from the University of New Hampshire and earned both his Master's and Ph.D. in chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before his election to the State Assembly in 2010, he served on the Chemung County Legislature starting in 2006. Throughout his legislative career, Friend has maintained a focus on his scientific background and has been noted for his voting record on various state legislative acts.
