David G. McDonough is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 14th district. First elected in a 2002 special election, he has maintained his seat representing portions of Hempstead in Nassau County, Long Island. Prior to his legislative career, McDonough served in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Air Force. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Columbia University and is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In the Assembly, he has served as the chairman of the Task Force on Public Safety and as the ranking member on the Assembly Transportation Committee.
