Claire Wilson is an American educator and politician serving as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 30th legislative district. Before her election to the Senate in 2019, she served two terms on the Federal Way Public Schools Board of Education and spent 25 years with the Puget Sound Educational Service District. A champion for early childhood education and criminal justice reform, Wilson has sponsored legislation to expand access to early learning programs and end the use of solitary confinement for youth. She is the first openly lesbian state senator in Washington history.
