Claudia Kalisch is a German politician and the current Mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg, having assumed office on November 1, 2021. As the first woman to hold this position, she previously served as the Samtgemeindebürgermeisterin of Amelinghausen. A member of Alliance 90/The Greens since 2010, she holds a degree in environmental sciences and an MBA in sustainability management. Her political career includes advocacy for climate action and public transport expansion, and she currently serves as a Vice President of the Association of German Cities.
