Karl Bär

Karl Bär is a German politician and member of the Bundestag, representing the Alliance 90/The Greens. Born in 1985 in Tegernsee, he has a background in Islamic Studies and Agricultural Science. Before his election to the federal parliament in 2021, he served as a municipal and district councillor in Holzkirchen and Miesbach and worked as a consultant for agricultural policy at the Munich Environmental Institute. Bär is known for his environmental activism, particularly his advocacy regarding pesticide use in agriculture, which led to a high-profile legal case in South Tyrol that resulted in his acquittal. He remains an active voice on agricultural and environmental policy within the Green parliamentary group.
