Born in Reutlingen, he holds a bachelor's degree in Political and Social studies from the University of Würzburg and has pursued further studies in Political and Administrative sciences at the University of Hagen. Before his parliamentary career, he was active in the Green Youth and served on the state board of his party in Baden-Württemberg. In the Bundestag, he is a member of the Committee on Internal Affairs and has participated in coalition government negotiations.
