Claudia Pascual

Claudia Pascual is a Chilean politician and social anthropologist serving as a Senator of the Republic representing the 7th Senatorial Circumscription of the Metropolitan Region since March 2022. A member of the Communist Party of Chile, she previously served as the Minister Director of the National Service for Women and as the inaugural Minister of Women and Gender Equality under President Michelle Bachelet, becoming the first communist to hold a ministerial cabinet position in Chile since 1973. Her career also includes serving as a municipal councilor for Santiago.
