Cleave Simpson

Cleave Alan Simpson Jr. is an American politician serving as a member of the Colorado Senate, representing District 6. A fourth-generation farmer and rancher from the San Luis Valley, he previously represented District 35 before redistricting. In June 2025, he was elected as the Senate Minority Leader. Beyond his legislative career, Simpson serves as the general manager of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District and has a background in agricultural management and public service, including a tenure on the Adams State University Board of Trustees.
