Costache Chertif

Costache Chertif is a Romanian politician and plastic surgeon who has served as a member of the Senate of Romania representing Maramureș since December 2024. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished medical career, serving as the head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Microsurgery Department at the Baia Mare County Hospital from 2007 to 2023. He holds a doctorate in medical sciences from the Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca. He was elected to the Senate as a candidate for the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR).
