Crescent Marault is a French politician and entrepreneur who served as the Mayor of Auxerre from 2020 to 2026. Before his tenure in Auxerre, he was the mayor of the neighboring municipality of Saint-Georges-sur-Baulche for nine years, beginning in 2010. A self-described liberal humanist, Marault began his political engagement in the 1990s and has been associated with center-right parties including the UMP and Les Républicains before joining Horizons. Following his defeat in the 2026 municipal elections, he announced his intention to retire from public life to pursue other forms of service, including potential involvement in the French Army's operational reserve.
