Elected in 2020 and assuming office in January 2021, she made history by becoming the first Republican to represent the district in 65 years. Prior to her legislative career, she worked as an agricultural consultant and served as the director of the Sierra Soil & Water Conservation District. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics and business from New Mexico State University and resides in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.
