He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Washington and earned an M.B.A. from Clemson-Furman Universities. Prior to his legislative career, he worked for General Electric. Throughout his tenure, he has been recognized for his legislative work, including receiving the Guardians of Small Business award from the NFIB in 2014 and being named Legislator of the Year by the Washington Farm Bureau in 2021.
