Cyril Xaba is a South African politician serving as the Mayor of eThekwini since July 2024. A long-time member of the African National Congress (ANC), he previously served as a Member of the National Assembly from 2019 to 2024, where he chaired the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans. His extensive political career includes serving in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature for multiple terms and as the MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development. Xaba is a trained lawyer who holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
