Pemmy Majodina is a South African politician currently serving as the Minister of Water and Sanitation since July 2024. A member of the African National Congress (ANC), she previously served as the Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the National Assembly from 2019 to 2024. A teacher by profession, Majodina has held various government roles, including serving in the National Council of Provinces and as a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for several portfolios in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature between 2008 and 2019. She is a long-standing member of the ANC's National Executive Committee and has been active in South African politics since the anti-apartheid movement.
