Fasiha Hassan

Fasiha Hassan is a South African politician and lawyer who has served as a member of the National Assembly since June 2024. She rose to prominence as a student activist at the University of the Witwatersrand, where she played a key leadership role during the #FeesMustFall protests of 2016. Prior to her national parliamentary role, she served as a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2019 to 2024, becoming the youngest member of that body at the time of her election. A member of the African National Congress, Hassan focuses her legislative work on education, youth unemployment, and climate justice, while also serving on various parliamentary committees and the Judicial Service Commission.
