Dafydd Wigley is a Welsh politician and life peer who served as the leader of Plaid Cymru from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 2000. He was the Member of Parliament for Caernarfon from 1974 to 2001 and served as a member of the National Assembly for Wales from 1999 to 2003. Known for his pragmatic social democratic views, he has been a long-standing advocate for disability rights and Welsh language representation. He was granted a life peerage in 2010 and has served in the House of Lords since 2011.
